About Melina

MELINA PETTERSEN (1991) is a young and  aspiring filmmaker born and raised in Bergen, Norway. A storyteller at heart, Melina grew up watching all kinds of movies, but found a special connection to the works of Walt Disney, which commenced her path as a storyteller.

 

SINCE THEN, Melina has expanded her filmmaking experience, receiving a BA within Film and Television Production at the University in Bergen,  having co-written and directed two short films in Norway, one of which named VIVERE was nominated for an award at the Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn, while also working on several projects an editor, casting director and a full time script supervisor.

 

IN 2014, Melina started studying for an MA at the London Film School, following the footsteps of directors such as Michael Mann and Mike Leigh. This lead on to her directing several short films in the UK, where she eventually graduated with an MA in Filmmaking specialising as a writer and director of her latest film MAGNUS, which earned recognition in festivals world wide.
